RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PROPOSED
VISION, GOALS, & OBJECTIVES OF THE
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
TRANSPORTATION PLANNING BOARD
WHEREAS The National Capital Region
Transportation Planning Board (TPB) has proposed
a vision, Goals, & Objectives for the
Metropolitan Washington region,
WHEREAS the vision, Goals, & Objectives
propose three key concepts, namely:
1. A ~spider web" network connecting transit and
roads to all major employment centers is
essential.
2. Development and transportation will be better
coordinated.
3. An enhanced funding mechanism(s) for the
region would help maintain our region's
transit systems and fund transportation
priorities that the public supports.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, agree in principle to the
three key concepts of the vision.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City
Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia at its
regular City Council meeting on June 23, 1998, to
endorse the three key concepts of the proposed
Transportation Planning Board vision, Goals, &
Objectives.
Adopted this 23rd day of June 1998.
