RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF BEERY, RIO &
ASSOCIATES, AGENT FOR THE CITY OF FAIRFAX SCHOOL BOARD, FOR
A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO CHAPTER 26 OF THE CITY CODE ON THE
PREMISES KNOWN AS JERMANTOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 3614
JERMANTOWN ROAD, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX
MAP PARCEL 47-3-((2))-40.
WHEREAS, Beery Rio & Associates has submitted application No. SE-222-98-1
requesting a special exception to modify Section 26-65 of the City Code to modify the tree
canopy cover requirement for development in the R-2 residential district.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed special exception is
appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code
Section 26-71.2 and Section 26-103(c);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
on this 28'a day of July, 1998, that Application No. SE-222-98-1 be and hereby is
APPROVED with the condition to provide at least 14 street trees, 12 shade trees interior to
the parking lots, 38 shade trees adjacent to the parking lots and loading areas, and 40
additional trees anywhere else on the property.
