19980908 r-98-55RESOLUTION R-98-55 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, BY MICHAEL B. CADWALLADER, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, FOR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO MODIFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF CITY CODE SECTIONS 26-44 AND 26-46 TO ALLOW TWO ILLUMINATED SCOREBOARDS AND A BUILDING- MOUNTED SIGN IN ADDITION TO THE EXISTING PARK ENTRANCE SIGN, FOR A TOTAL OF 128 SQUARE FEET WHERE 24 SQUARE FEET IS PERMITTED, ON THE PREMISES KNOWN AS 3413 PICKETT ROAD (THAISS PARK), AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 48-3-((02))-15. WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has submitted Application No. SE-229-98-1 requesting a Special Exception to the City Code Sections 26-44 (Table I) and 26-46(m). WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by the City of Fairfax Code Sections 26-48 and 26-103(c). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax on this 8th day of September, 1998, that Application No. SE-229-98-1 be and hereby is APPROVED, with the following conditions: The building-mounted sign shall be changed to accurately reflect the correct spelling of the park's name. The back of the scoreboard on field #1 shall be screened with evergreen trees, subject to approval by the Board of Architectural Review. Adopted this 8th day of September, 1998. Mayor ATTEST:
