A RESOLUTION TO REFER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
AMENDMENTS TO ARTICLE X OF THE CITY CODE TO PERMIT MINOR
HOME OCCUPATIONS BY-RIGHT AND MAJOR HOME OCCUPATIONS WITH
A SPECIAL USE PERMIT IN THE COMMERCIAL PLANNED
DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT; AND ARTICLES XII AND XIII
TO PERMIT PHARMACIES WITH DRIVE-THRU FACILITIES IN THE
C-l, C-2 AND C-3 ZONING DISTRICTS WITH A SPECIAL USE PERMIT
WHEREAS, providing for appropriate uses and procedures may stimulate
economic development and enhance the City's commercial districts; and
WHEREAS, home occupations in Commercial Planned Development districts and
drive-through pharmacies are not addressed in the City's zoning text; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to facilitate the creation of a convenient, attractive, and
harmonious community, and to encourage economic development activities that provide
desirable employment and enlarge the tax base;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia does hereby refer to the Planning Commission for study, public hearing,
and recommendation, the aforementioned amendments to Chapter 26 of the City Code.
