MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING BRENDA RAVENELL CUFFEE
WHEREAS, Brenda Cuffee moved from Charleston, South Carolina
to attend the Saint Augustine College in Raleigh, North Carolina,
receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education in
1979, and after moving to New Stanton, Pennsylvania, chose to
settle in Springfield, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cuffee was employed as Permit and License
Specialist for the City of Fairfax in the Department of Code
Enforcement on July 6, 1994; and
WHEREAS, while with the City of Fairfax, she displayed
dedication and enthusiasm in serving the public and meeting the
needs of the department; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cuffee served as director of the Children's
Choir and as a member of the Usher Committee at Spirit of Faith
Church in Alexandria, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cuffee maintained her involvement in community
affairs by supporting local scout troops and youth soccer teams;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
note with sadness the passing of a dedicated employee, beloved
friend, and community leader, Mrs. Brenda Cuffee; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Mrs. Cuffee in recognition of her
service to the City of Fairfax.
