R-96-16 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF FAIRFAX NURSING CENTER, INC., BY DAVID PRITZ, ADMINISTRATOR/AGENT, FOR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO CITY CODE SECTION 26-39. l(c) - TO ALLOW A PORTION OF THE REQUIRED OFF- STREET PARKING TO BE LOCATED OFF-SITE AND NOT ON THE SAME PARCEL AS THE PRINCIPAL USE, AS PRESENTED IN APPLICATION SE-173-96-1, WITH THE CONDITION THAT THE PARKING OF VEHICLES AT THE CHURCH SITE BE RESTRICTED TO EMPLOYEES OF THE FAIRFAX NURSING CENTER, ON THE PREMISES KNOWN AS 10723 MAIN STREET, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 57-1-((2))-122A AND 123, BECAUSE THE REQUEST IS CONSISTENT WITH REQUISITES ESTABLISHED IN CITY CODE SECTION 26-39.7 AND SECTION 26-103(c). WHEREAS, Fairfax Nursing Center, Inc. has submitted Application No. SE-173-96-1 requesting Special Exception to the City Code listed below: Section 26-39. l(c) - To allow a portion of the required off-street parking to be located off-site and not on the same parcel as the principal use. WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code Section 26-39.7 and Section 26-103(c) for the following reasons: The relocation of a portion of the employee parking for the Fairfax Nursing Center will reduce the need for employees and visitors to park on side street. This proposal will improve safety and enhance the movement of vehicular traffic upon adjacent streets. This proposal promotes the safety and welfare of persons working in the neighborhood. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax on this 14th day of May, 1996, that Application No. SE-173-96-1 be and hereby is APPROVED with the condition the parking of vehicles at the church site be restricted to employees of the Fairfax Nursing Center.
