19961029 r-96-51RESOLUTION No.R-9~-§I RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF SAUL CENTERS, INC., BY DAVID PATALITA, VICE PRF_~qIDENT, FOR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 26 OF THE CITY CODE TO ALLOW A TENANT SIGN THAT EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SIGNAGE ON THE PREMISES KNOWN AS 10710 LEE HIGHWAY, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 57-1-((2))-60. WHEREAS, Saul Centers, Inc. has submitted Application No. SE-183-96-2 requesting a special exception to City Code Section 26-44(b)(2)(a) to allow a tenant sign that exceeds the maximum allowable signage; and WHEREAS, City Council has carefully considered the application, the recommendation of the staff and testimony received at the public hearing; and WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed special exception is appropriate because the request is consistent with the provision of City Code Section 26-48 and the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan and the Community Appearance Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax on this 29th day of October, 1996, that Application No. SE-183-96-2 be and hereby is APPROVED with the following conditions: 1. Reduce the length of the sign to 100 feet; 2. Eliminate the yellow spotlight from the background; o Redesign the background to be consistent with the sign design at Seven Comers; and Sign not to exceed 750 square feet or the square footage of the sign at Seven Corners, whichever is the lesser of the two.
