A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REVISED POLICY AND PROCEDURE
FOR RESIDENTIAL NEW CONCRETE SIDEWALK, CURB AND GUTTER
LOCAL ASSESSMENT PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the comprehensive plan of the City of Fairfax
stresses the importance of properly designed and constructed storm
drainage and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, some residents desire that their streets be upgraded
to include concrete sidewalks and/or curb and gutter; and
WHEREAS, such improvements add to the value of the property;
and
WHEREAS, there is a financial burden to the City for providing
such improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it equitable for the owners of
such residential properties to share in the cost of such
improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax, that the attached policy entitled "City of Fairfax,
Virginia Policy and Procedure For Residential New Concrete,
Sidewalk, Curb and Gutter Local Assessment Projects," dated
November 20, 1996, is hereby adopted.
