RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF FAIRFAX HIGH SCHOOL,
BY AMY CRAIG, COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR, FOR SPECIAL
EXCEPTIONS TO CHAPTER 26 OF THE CITY CODE ON THE PREMISES
KNOWN AS 3500 OLD LEE HIGHWAY, AND MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 58-1-((2))-3.
WHEREAS, Fairfax High School, by Amy Craig, Community Activities Director,
has submitted application No. SE-133-94-2 requesting a Special Exception to City Code
Section 26-44(a) Table I, in order to allow more than the permitted 24 square-foot sign area.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is
appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code
Sections 26-48Co) and 26-103(c) for the following reasons:
The applicant has a unique situation which requires more than the permitted 24
square feet of sign area; and
The request meets the intent of the Sign Ordinance and the objectives of the
Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
on this 10th day of May, 1994, that application No. SE-133-94-2 be and hereby is
APPROVED, with the following conditions:

The total sign height be no more than six feet;
The sign setback be 20 feet from the right-of-way and property lines;
The sign be the required "ground-mounted" style;
Each sign face to be no more than 52 square feet in area.
