RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE REQUEST OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, BY GARY
A. MESARIS, FIRE CHIEF, FOR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO CHAPTER 26 OF
THE CITY CODE ON THE pREMISES KNOWN AS FIRE STATION #33, 10101 LEE
HIGHWAY, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL
47-4-((3))-00B.
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, by Gary A. Mesaris, Fire Chief, has submitted
application No. SE-142-94-1, requesting a Special Exception to the City Code listed below:
Section 26-39. l(h)(3) To allow a building expansion which increases the gross floor area
by more than'30% without all of the required improvements to the existing
nonconforming parking lot.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is
appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code Section
26-39.7 and 26-103(c) for the following reasons:
1. The proposal is consistent with the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan to
adequately maintain City facilities and City services, and to encourage the
upgrade and renovation of older properties.
2. The proposal permits reasonable use of the property.
3. No negative impacts are anticipated as a result of granting the request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax on
this 13th day of September, 1994, that application No. SE-142-94-1 be and hereby is
APPROVED.
