RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF FAIRFAX HOTEL, INC.,
AND TOPKAPI RESTAURANT, INC., FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS
FOR SIGNAGE AT ROUTE 123 AND EATON PLACE
WHEREAS, Fairfax Hotel, Inc., by George A. Snell, presi-
dent, and Topkapi Restaurant, Inc., by Mehmet Ureten, president,
have submitted application No. SE-93-92-1 requesting special
exceptions to the city Code listed below:
Section 26-43(a)(1) - to permit off-site signage; and
Section 26-43(a)(3) and (8) and Section 26-44(a) and Table
I_~I - to permit a free-standing sign to be less than the
required 20 feet from the right-of-way; and
Section 25-44(a) and Table II and Section 26-44(b)(2)(c)1 -
to permit more than the allowed 50 square feet maximum
free-standing sign area; and more than the one free-
standing sign permitted per business.
WHEREAS, city Council has determined that the proposed
special exceptions are appropriate because the proposal meets
the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code Sections
26-48 and 26-103(c) for the following reason:
It is clear that the businesses cannot be seen from the
road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
city of Fairfax on this 12th day of May, 1992, that application
No. SE-93-92-1 be and hereby is approved.
