CITY COUNCIL GOALS, 1992 - 1994
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of
developing and sharing a set of goals for its term of office;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council appreciates that the establish-
ment of stated goals will assist the staff in prioritizing its
efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will commit itself and ap-
propriate City resources for the accomplishment of its stated
goals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
establishes the following goals for its 1992 - 1994 term of
office:
To ensure the successful completion of the Fairfax 2020
Commission study and the development of implementation
strategies based on its agreed recommendations; and
To develop and implement an aggressive economic development
program, with special emphasis on the Lee Highway Corridor;
and
To develop a plan and related strategies for the relocation
of the Pickett Road tank farm; and
To develop a plan for rehabilitation of the City's
infrastructure (public buildings, schools, streets,
utilities) and a strategy for its funding; and

To develop a program and associated strategies for the
encouragement of rehabilitation and upgrading of aging
residential areas.
