RESOLUTION TO GRANT AUTHORITY TO THE CITY
TREASURER TO EMPLOY A PRIVATE COLLECTION AGENCY
TO PURSUE COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT PERSONAL
PROPERTY TAXES FOR 1988, 1989 AND 1990
WHEREAS, the State Code authorizes local treasurers, with the
approval of the governing body, to employ private collection agents
to collect delinquent local taxes; and
WHEREAS, the Treasurer has used due diligence in the
collection of personal property taxes for 1988, 1989 and 1990; and
WHEREAS, there remains an outstanding balance in personal
property taxes for 1988, 1989 and 1990;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Fairfax authorizes the City Treasurer to employ a private
collection agent to pursue collection of delinquent personal
property taxes for 1988, 1989 and 1990.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of September, 1992.
