A RESOLUTION TO REFER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR
REVIEW, PUBLIC HEARING AND RECOMMENDATION AN AMENDMENT
TO CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE XVII , BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL
REVIEW, SECTION 26-196, MEETINGS, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX, TO REDUCE THE REQUIRED QUORUM FOR BOARD OF
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, it has not always been possible to meet the Section
26-196 quorum requirements for Board of Architectural Review
meetings, resulting in the cancellation of certain meetings; and
WHEREAS, cancellation of Board of Architectural Review
meetings has resulted in the hardships of unnecessary expense and
delay for applicants; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and its
property owners to promote an efficient, fair review system for
property improvement applications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, refer to the Planning Commission for
review and public hearing an amendment to Chapter 26, Article XVII,
Section 26-196, to reduce the required quorum for Board of Archi-
tectural Review meetings.
