RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF FAIRFAX
SURGICAL CENTER, BY LINDA HARPER, ADMINISTRATOR,
FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 10730 MAIN
STREET, TAX MAP PARCEL, 57-1-((19D))-002A.
WHEREAS, Fairfax Surgical Center by Linda Harper, Administrator, has
submitted application No. SE-104-92-2 requesting Special Exceptions to the City
Codes listed below:
Section 26-43(a)(3) and (8) and Section 26-44(a) Table li to allow a free-
standing sign to be located closer to the right-of-way and property lines than the
required twenty feet.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exceptions
are appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of
Fairfax Code Section 26-48 for the following reasons:
The applicant has demonstrated a unique burden due to the existing
vegetation;
The proposal is not inconsistent with the purpose of the sign ordinance to
provide for adequate, but not excessiCee signage, and meets the goal of
the Comprehensive Plan to encourage well designed signage; and
3. No negative impacts are anticipated as a result of granting the request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax on this 8th day of December, 1992, that application No. SE-104-92-2 be and
hereby is APPROVED.
ADOPTED this 8th day of December, 1992.
