RESOLUTION TO DEDICATE THE AMPHITHEATER AT CITY HALL AS
"CITY OF FAIRFAX VETERANS AMPHITHEATER"
WHEREAS, throughout the Nation's history citizens who reside
and work in the City of Fairfax have served our country in the
United States Armed Services, including many who have been wounded
or have lost their lives; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax wishes to commemorate the valor,
patriotism and sacrifice of all the individuals who have so
willingly served, and will serve, to preserve the ideals of our
country by dedicating the Amphitheater; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars have
generously contributed an American flag, United States Service
flags, a Prisoner of War flag, and a plaque to be permanently
displayed in the Amphitheater at City Hall;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax, that the Amphitheater at City Hall be known henceforth
as the City of Fairfax Veterans Amphitheater.
ADOPTED this 28th day of May, 1991.
