A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF BONDS AND
BOND COUPONS WHICH HAVE BEEN PAID BY THE TREASURER.
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer is and shall in the future be
in possession of certain bonds and bond coupons which have been
paid by the City Treasurer or his predecessors;
WHEREAS, for such bonds and bond coupons that have been
paid or shall in the future have been paid for the statutory
period of time, the City Treasurer desires to provide for the
destruction of these bonds and bond coupons pursuant to Section
58.1-3130 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Fairfax, upon the petition of the City Treasurer,
hereby authorizes the destruction of all bonds and bond coupons
that have been paid, either now or in the future, by the City
Treasurer or his predecessors pursuant to Section 58.1-3130 of
the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Fairfax designates the following committee to supervise and
witness the destruction of such bonds and bond coupons. This
committee shall prepare and execute the required certificates
and shall file the originals of these certificates as a part of
the minutes of the City Council of the City of Fairfax.
