R-90- 1 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE VIRGINIA PUBLIC SCHOOL AUTHORITY (VPSA) FOR FINANCING PROJECTS FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES THROUGH THE SALE OF VPSA BONDS WHEREAS, the Fairfax City School Board has determined that there is an urgent need to replace the roofs on four elementary schools, Lanier Intermediate School and a portion of Fairfax High School; WHEREAS, the Fairfax City School Board desires to install air conditioning in two elementary schools; WHEREAS, by resolution adopted on January 8, 1990, the Fairfax City School Board authorized the Superintendent to apply, on behalf of the School Board, to the Virginia Public School Authority (VPSA) to obtain funds in the amount of One Million, Five Hundred and Ten Thousand Dollars ($1,510,000.00) from the VPSA 1990 Series A Spring Bond Sale for financing the above described roof repairs and air conditioning installations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax that the Council authorizes the City Manager to execute and forward to the VPSA an application to participate in the VPSA 1990 Series A Spring Bond Sale in an amount not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred and Ten Thousand Dollars ($1,510,000.00) for school purposes.
