19900123 r-90-3RESOLUTION NO. R-90-...3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF COMPSON DEVELOPMENT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP BY CRANSON W. GATES, AGENT, TO AMEND CONDITION NUMBER 7 OF THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION FOR PARKING (GRANTED BY CITY COUNCIL IN SE-41-88-1, OCTOBER 25, 1988) TO ALLOW A LOGO SIGN WHERE ONLY INDIVIDUAL BLACK PLASTIC LETTERSARE PERMITTED FOR FAIRFAX EDUCATION ASSOCIATION ON THE PREMISES KNOWN AS FAIRFAX COMMONS, 3917 OLD LEE HIGHWAY AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP 57-2-((37))- 000F. WHEREAS, Compson Development Limited Partnership has submitted application no. SE-65-89-2 requesting amendment to condition of the approval of October 25, 1988. WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed amendment is appropriate because the proposed logo sign is consistent in materials, style and lettering to the condition established by the City Council in approving Special Exception SE-1-88-1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax on this 23rd day of January , 1990, that application no. SE-65-89-2 be and hereby is APPROVED subject to the conditions previously approved for application number SE-41-88-1 with the following additional or modified conditions: The bike Trail clearing and grading be completed by April 30, 1990. The seven light fixtures in the front landscaped area be replaced with the fixtures approved in the Old Town section of the Community Appearance Plan and be accomplished by April 30, 1990. The building-mounted signage be uniform using the style, color and materials already present on the buildings in the project with the exception of the logo for the FEA as requested. A contribution of $10,000 to assist in the design of public/private parking garage facilities to be provided to the City by July 1, 1990. The applicant provide a landscaped lighted plaza with benches on the southwest corner of the property at a cost not to exceed $9,500, details of the plaza will conform with the Community Appearance Plan and be coordinated with the City's Urban Designer, by April 30, 1990.
