LOCATION AND DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING APPROVAL
WHEREAS, a Location and Design Public Hearing was
conducted on March 7, 1989, in the County of Fairfax by
representatives of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department
of Transportation after due and proper notice for the
purpose of considering the proposed location and design of
Route 29 (Lee Highway) Improvement Project from ECL to
Fairfax circle in the city of Fairfax and from ECL, city of
Fairfax to 0.4 miles west of 1-495 in the County of Fairfax,
at which hearing aerial photographs, drawings and other
pertinent information were made available for public
inspection in accordance with state and federal
requirements; and
WHEREAS, all persons and parties in attendance were
afforded full opportunity to participate in said public
hearing; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City of Fairfax were
present and participated in said hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Council had previously requested the
Virginia Department of Transportation to program the city
portion of this project; and
WHEREAS, the Council considered all such matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
city of Fairfax hereby approves the location and major
design features of the city portion of this proposed project
as presented at the Public Hearing; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city of Fairfax
requests the Virginia Department of Transportation to
acquire all rights of way necessary for the City portion of
this project conveying said rights of way to the city at the
appropriate time; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city Manager is hereby
authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Fairfax, all
necessary railroad and utility agreements required in
conjunction with acquiring such rights of way.
