APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Virginia State Department of Criminal Justice
Services has initiated a grant-in-aid program to assist local
police departments in funding communications needs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax Police Department is in the
process of upgrading its overall radio communications system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, does hereby authorize the city
Manager to submit an application to the Department of Criminal
Justice Services for a grant in the amount of $34,650.81 to be
used for the purchase of new radio equipment.
