RESOLUTION NO. R-89-41
RESOLUTION APPROVING MODIFICATION OF VSRS RETIREMENT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax participates in the Virginia
State Retirement System (VSRS); and
WHEREAS, the Virginia General Assembly has granted member
jurisdictions the authority to provide for an unreduced
retirement at age 55 with 30 years of service; and
WHEREAS, the cost of providing such a benefit will be
minimal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, does hereby choose to provide the
option of an unreduced retirement benefit at age 55 with 30
years of service to its employees through VSRS.
