WHEREAS, a suit has been filed against the City of Fairfax and Marcus M.
Lipp by Richard Lewis (Richard Lewis v. City of Fairfax, et. al., At Law No.
75149) alleging personal liability on the par~--of Marcus M. Lipp for actions
taken by him while performing duties for the Fairfax City Police Department.
and ,
WHEREAS, Lt. Lipp was performing his duties as an officer of the Fairfax
City Police Department at the times relevant to the allegations in the suit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that the City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to under-
take the legal representation of Lt. Lipp in this suit.
