A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO
INSURANCE CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, several of the current insurance contracts of the City of Fair-
fax will expire on February 1, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has not yet received the final quotes from
several insurance carriers who are expected to bid for contracts with the
City of 'Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is not scheduled to meet again until after
several of the current insurance contracts have expired; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed the insurance needs of the City
and the various alternatives available with the Director of Finance and has
directed him as to the classes of insurance, types of coverage, and policy
limits that it deems necessary to protect the interests of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax.,
Virginia, that the Director of Finance be authorized to execute contracts on
behalf of the City of Fairfax insuring the City, its public officials, boards,
commissions, and employees against property loss and liability in accordance
with the directions of this Council and in the best interest of the City.
