WHEREAS, it is necessary for a formal request to be made to the
Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth of Virginia by the
Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, by resolution for each project.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, at its regular meeting on this 14th day of ^pri] ,
1987, that:
(1) The Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth of Virginia be,
and it is hereby requested to establish and set up a project within the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, to complete a six-lane divided highway on
Route 29/50 from Draper Drive to Eaton Place extended; and,
(2) The City hereby agrees to provide its five percent share of the cost
for the project; and,
(3) The City further agrees that if said project is established as
herein requested and thereafter the City decides not to proceed further
with said project, then the City, by this resolution agrees to repay
the Department of Transportation for 100 percent of the cost incurred for
said project to the time of abondonment.
