A RESOLUTION WHICH, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADMINISTERING DIVISION 7 OF THE ZONING
ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF SIGNS, ESTABLISHES CLASSIFICATIONS
FOR STREETS WITHIN THE~CITY.
WHEREAS, the revised sign regulations contained in the Zoning Ordinance
regulate free standing business signs based on the classification of the street
on which they are located; and
WHEREAS, the need exists to classify streets within the City to administer
the revised regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairf
Virginia, on this 23rd day of June
_ , 1987, that for the purpose of ad-
ministering the revised sign regulations, streets within the City shall be
classified as follows:
Arterial: Routes 29/50
Route 236
Route 123
Jermantown Rd. between Route 50 and Route 29
Collector: University Drive
Old Lee Highway
Layton Hall Drive/Kenmore Drive
Jermantown Rd. north of Route 50
Judicial Drive
Burke Station Road
Local:
All other streets in the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these classifications will remain effective
]ntil amended by the adoption of the revised Transportation Plan, or until
amended by resolution of City Council.
