19860513 r-86-10RESOLUTION R-86-10 WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia (the "City") has the authority to construct, maintain and equip buildings and other structures necessary or useful in executing its powers and duties, the performance of its functions and accomplish- ment of its purposes and objectives under Virginia Code Section 15.1-gt~6; WHEREAS, Old Town Hall is a building necessary and useful for the purposes described above; WHEREAS, the City has a need for architectural services for Phases II, III, IV and V improvements to Old Town Hall; WHEREAS, the firm of Rust, Orling and Neale has offered to provide such services for $22,502.00; WHEREAS, the sum of $22,502.00 is an acceptable price for such services and in accord with the sum paid for architectural services for the Phase I improvements to Old Town Hall; WHEREAS, the City has sufficient funds available in the FYgS/g6 Capital Budget for Phase I improvements to pay for such architectural services; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that the firm of Rust, Orling and Neale is the only source practicably available to provide such architectural services due to time constraints and such firm's familiarity with the City's requirements, such firm having already prepared the Master Plan and Phase I construction drawings and specifications for improvements to Old Town Hall, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby auth- orized to execute a contract for architectural services for Phase II of Old Town Hall with the firm of Rust, Orling and Neale in the amount of $22,5~2.00.
