A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FORM OF THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT
AND THE FORM OF THE NOTICE OF SALE PERTAINING TO THE
ISSUANCE AND SALE OF WATER BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$q~300,000, SERIES OF 1986~ BY THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $#,300,000 general obliga-
tion water bonds of the City of Fairfax, Virginia (the City), to pay the cost of im-
proving the water system of the City was adopted by the City Council on 3une 25,
1995, and approved by the qualified voters of the City at an election held on Novem-
ber 5, 1995, none of which bonds has been issued or sold; and
WHEREAS bond counsel for the City of Fairfax has submitted for consideration
by City Council draft versions of the Official Statement relating to the original
issuance of $#,300,000 general obligation water bonds, series of 1996, and the Notice
of Sale; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that:
1. There are hereby authorized to be issued and sold $#,300,000 water bonds of
the City (the Bonds).
2. The City Manager, in collaboration with Municipal Advisors Incorporated,
the City's financial advisor (the Financial Advisor), is hereby authorized and directed
to take all proper steps to advertise the Bonds for sale substantially in accordance
with the form of Notice of Sale attached hereto as Exhibit A, provided that the City
Manager, in collaboration with the Financial Advisor, may make such changes in the
Notice of sale not inconsistent with this resolution as he may consider to be in the
best interest of the City.
3. The draft of the Official Statement describing the Bonds, copies of which
have been provided to members of the Council and a copy of which is attached
hereto, as Exhibit B, is hereby approved as the form of the Official Statement by
which the Bonds will be offered for sale, with such completions, omissions, insertions
and changes as the City Manager, in collaboration with the Financial Advisor, may
deem necessary and/or appropriate.
#. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby re-
pealed.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.
