WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, 3r. has served with distinction as Mayor of the
City of Fairfax for the past three years; and
WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, Jr. has taken an active leadership role in educa-
tion issues, serving as Vice-Chairman and later Chairman of the City of Fairfax
School Board; and
WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, 2r. has extensive experience in transportation
issues, previously serving as Secretary-Treasurer and currently serving as the Vice-
Chairman of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission; and
WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, Jr. has demonstrated a broad knowledge of
regional affairs through his service on the Board of Directors and the Transportation
Planning Board of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and
WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, 3r., as a 2-year member of the VML Legislative
Committee, has broad knowledge of the legislative goals and objectives of the VML;
and
WHEREAS, George T. Snyder, 3r. has extensive experience in dealing with the
legislative process on federal, state, and local levels;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, is proud to recommend the Honorable George T. Snyder, :Ir. to
serve as a member of the Virginia Municipal League Executive Committee.
