A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BI-ANNUAL REVIEW OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council believe that a current and well
studied Comprehensive Plan for the City of Fairfax is essential for the purpose
of guiding and accomplishing the coordinated and harmonious development of real
estate within the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council believe that the Comprehensive Plan
can be effective in accomplishing its purposes only if it is employed as a
primary consideration in establishing zoning classifications and drawing zon-
ing district boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council further believe that bi-annual review
of the Comprehensive Plan is necessary to provide for the trends of growth and
change and for 'the current and future needs of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fairfax that
the Planning Commission and City Council establish and p~ursue a systematic pro-
cedure for bi-annual review of the Comprehensive Plan, the first such review
to occur in 1989.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, effective immediately, it shall be the
~olicy of the City of Fairfax to deny rezoning requests that are inconsistent
with the adopted plan.
