A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VA.
RECLASSIFICATION OF AUTO ALLOWANCE TO EXTRA
COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the payment of an
auto allowance to the City Manager as part of the Council's contract with
the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City has been advised that the payment of auto
allowances is no longer allowed under State law; and
WHEREAS, the payment of extra compensation in lieu of an auto
allowance is an allowable method according to the Virginia Auditor of
Public Accounts; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Fairfax authorizes the reclassification of auto allowance to extra
compensation for the City Manager retroactive to November 1, 1984; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Fairfax authorizes a bi-weekly amount of extra compensation for the
City Manager in the amount of $115.38 retroactive to November 1, 1984;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager can be
reimbursed at 20.5 cents per mile for travel outside of the Washington
Metropolitan area.
