19850226 r-85-3RESOLUTION NO. 1985-3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, DIRECTING THE CITY ~NAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FAIRFAX COUNTY TAX MAP NO. 68-2-1-36 WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax owns certain real property, located in Fairfax County, Tax Map No. 68-2-1-36, on which is located a sewage lift station which is no longer used by the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the City has no further need for the subject property and that said property is, therefore, surplus, and WHEREAS, City Council deems the sale 6f the subject property to be advantageous to the City and desires that the property be sold on the basis of competitive bids in order to obtain the highest price and to comply with Fairfax City Code Section 18.1-23; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Fairfax hereby resolves that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized and directed to request and receive bids for the sale of the subject property pursuant to the following conditions (I) The request for bids shall expressly state that the City reserves the right to cancel the invitation for bids or reject any or all bids or proposals should the City Council determine that it is in the best interests of the City to do so. (2) After the bid award, the property shall be conveyed from the City to the successful bidder by means of a Special Warranty Deed. 1985-3 (3) In addition to the cash price for the property, each bid for the purchase of the subject property must propose a time for settlement of the sale of the property. The City Manager is hereby directed to present such bids to City Council for the selection of the highest and best bidder. Thereafter, the City Council will vote upon a proposed ordinance approving the sale of the subject property to the selected bidder, which ordinance must be passed by an affirmative vote of three-quarters of all members elected to Council.
