WHEREAS, the City Treasurer is and shall in the future be in possession of
certain bonds and bond coupons which have been paid by the City Treasurer or his
predecessors; and
WHEREAS, these bonds and bond coupons have been paid for the statutory
period of time; aox~
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer desires to provide for the destruction of these
bonds and bond coupons pursuant to the provisions of Va. Code Ann. § 58.1-3130
(Repl. Vol. 1984);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, upon thepetition of theCityTreasurer, hereby authorizes the destruction
of all bonds and bond coupons paid by the City Treasurer or his predecessors
pursuant to the provisions of Va. Code Ann. §58.1-3130, as amended; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fairfax
designates the following cc~mittee to supervise and~witness the destruction of such
bonds and bond coupons. This committee shall prepare and execute the required
certificates and shall filet he originals of these certificates as a part of the
minutes of the City Council of the City of Fairfax.
