RESOLUTION CREATING PUBLIC INFORMATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS~ public awareness is of considerable importance to this Council; and
~,'HEREAS~ an effective public information program is vital to enhance public
awareness and citizen involvement in City services and activities; and
~'HEREAS~ an effective public information program is the first step to improv-
ing community pride; and
~/HEREAS~ the best way to develop and monitor an effective public informa-
tion program is through citizen input; and
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT;
1. This Council is creating with this resolution a Public Information Advi-
sory Committee charged with the responsibility of acting in an advisory capa-
city on policy issues to the City Council and City Manager in a comprehensive
effort to develop those programs that will enhance community spirit, pride, and
encourage greater citizen involvement.
2. The Public Information Advisory Committee shall consist of five (5)
citizens at large selected by the City Council, one member shall serve a one
year term, two members shall serve two year terms, and two members shall
serve three years terms. Thereafter, members will be appointed for three year
terms. One (1) Council member shall serve as an ex-officio member.
