19841218 r-84-26 Resolution No. R-84-26 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROJECTS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR THE CITY WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has entered into a cooperation agreement with the County of Fairfax and the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authorit~ for the purpose of providing essential community development activities; and WHEREAS, by entering into such a cooperative agreement with a qualified urban county, the City has become eligible to be included with the County in the County's application for its entitlement funds under the provisions of Title I of the United States Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and WHEREAS, Title I of the Act entitles urban counties to receive a formula share of the community development funds to be allocated pursuant to provisions therein; and WHEREAS, the City is ineligible to apply for discretionary funds under the Act during the extent of the cooperation agreement; and WHEREAS, the City reserves the right to withhold its approval of any activity or project located within its jurisdictionlprior to the submission of the community development applications to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, any application by the County for community development funds for activities or projects for the City must be specifically approved by the City Council before submission of the application by the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Fairfax supports the request for community development funds to be used for the rehabilitation of the Fairfax School Annex to be used as a senior/community center,in the Program Year XI (FY 85-86). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if this project is approved for funding, monies in the sum of $15,000 appropriated in Program Year X for the addition to Providence Park will be reprogrammed for the rehabilitation of Fairfax School Annex. ~C~- ~erk
