A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
SUPPORTING THE STATE JUNIOR MISS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State Junior Miss Program is to be held at the Fairfax
High School on February 4 and 5; and
WHEREAS, this program has moved from the City of Roanoke and is
desiring of finding a permanent home site on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax would greatly benefit from having this
excellent program permanently based in the City.
NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Fairfax does hereby support the activities of the State Junior Miss Program
and requests that the City become a sponsor of the program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City staff be instructed to work
with the organizers of the State Junior Miss Program to provide whatever
assistance reasonably possible to enhance the operations of this year's
program, including the free use of Fairfax High School; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the City of
Fairfax do hereby proclaim the week of January 30 through February 5, 1983,
as
STATE JUNIOR MISS WEEK
in the City of Fairfax and encourage
Junior Miss Program.
