PARTIES CONTRACTING WITH THE CITY
WHEREAS, The City of Fairfax from time to time
contracts with private individuals and entities to provide
goods and services for its benefit; and
WHEREAS it is the desire of the City Council of
the City of Fairfax that contracts be awarded only to those
individuals and entities who have fulfilled all of their
legal debts and other obligations towards the City and who
do not at the time of the award of the contract and the
execution of the contract have any outstanding legal debts
or other obligations to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Fairfax, Virginia that hereinafter no contract
should be awarded to any individuals or entities and no such
contracts shall be executed by The City of Fairfax if at the
time of the opening of the bids, the awarding of the contract,
and/or at the time of the proposed execution of said contract,
the individual or entity has not fulfilled all of its legal
debts and other obligations to the City including payment of
any taxes or other debts that may be due and owing, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is
hereby directe~ to report to the City Council as part of the
staff report for any proposed contract to be awarded whether
or not the parties who have requested the contract have any
such unfulfilled legal debts and obligations to the City of
Fairfax.
