19821012 r-82-31 RESOLUTION NO. R-82-31 CITY OF FAIRFAX RESOLUTION CONCERNING EXPIRATION OF LIENS FOR TAXES DELINQUENT FOR 20 YEARS OR MORE WHEREAS, the Code of Virginia, Section 58-767, provides in pertinent part that: "No lien upon real estate for taxes and levies due and payable to the C~n~onwealth or any political subdivision thereof which has been, or shall hereafter become, delinquent for twenty or more years shall be enforced in any proceeding at law or in equity and such lien shall be deemed to have expired and to be barred and cancelled after such time." WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to the Code of Virginia, Section 58-767 desires to release all liens upon real estate for taxes and levies due and payable to the City of Fairfax or the Town of Fairfax which are delinquent for twenty or more years as of the date of this resolution, BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, that all liens upon real estate for taxes and levies due and payable to the City of Fairfax or the Town of Fairfax which are delinquent for twenty or more years as of the date of this resolution are hereby released.
