R_- 8 2 -...3 6 RESOLUTION OPPOSING COMMONWEALTH HOSPITAL MOVE WHEREAS, a significant contribution to the quality of life of any community is the availability and close proximity of professional health care facilities to its resi- dents, and WHEREAS, Commonwealth Hospital has provided the City of Fairfax with a wide range of high quality health care services since 1967, and WHEREAS, Fairfax City residents have come to depend greatly upon Common- wealth Hospital for their health needs, and WHEREAS, through the years, the City of Fairfax and Commonwealth Hospital have come together on numerous occasions to protect and promote the availability of hospital services to residents, and WHEREAS, a move by Commonwealth Hospital out of the City of Fairfax would adversely impact the ability of 'Fairfax City residents to obtain health care services in an expeditious and efficient manner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Fairfax does hereby oppose a contemplated move by Commonwealth Hospital from Fairfax City which would remove health care facilities from easy access by Fairfax City residents.
