FEDERAL PAVEMENT MARKING DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal
Highway Administration, under Title 23 of the U.S. Code in
Volume B, Chapter 2, Section 1, of the Federal-Aid Highway
Program Manual offer a Pavement Marking Demonstration Program
to improve the pavement marking of all highways and to
demonstrate the value of high-type markings for vehicle and
pedestrian safety, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has need in upgrading the
existing pavement markings and/or applying the high-type marking
to streets, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax acknowledges the City's
responsibility in the reporting requirements as outlined in
the FHWA Federal-Aid Program Manual, Volume 8, Chapter 2,
Section 1, dated May 5, 1978, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax acknowledges the City's
responsibility in accordance with the attached proposed
agreement between the City of Fairfax and the Virginia Department
of Highways and Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be
authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of
Fairfax.
