A RESOLUTION TO DEVELOP A CONTRACT WITH
THE FAIRFAX VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, INC.
FOR FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia,
desires to provide the citizens of the City of Fairfax, Virginia,
with modern and capable fire protection and rescue services in
the most efficient manner possible; and
WHEREAS, one of the fire and rescue provision options
that can be considered by City Council would be to contract
with the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. for the
complete provision of fire and rescue services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
tasks the City Attorney to work with the volunteers to develop
a full service fire and rescue services contract for consideration
along with other options at a public hearing on September 18.
