PICKETT ROAD RECONSIDERATION
WHEREAS, it is necessary for a resolution to be forwarded to the
Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation to initiate or modify
significantly major road/highway projects; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation was
requested by a City of Fairfax Resolution dated September 6, 1977 to initi-
ate the Pickett Road project along Alternative Line 3; and
WHEREAS, on September 5, 1978 representatives of the Virginia Department
of Highways and Transportation provided the Fairfax City Council with addi-
tional information regarding Pickett Road and requested that the City Council
reconsider its decision to support Alternative Line 3; and
WHEREAS, on October 17, 1978 the Fairfax City Council accepted the
advice of representatives of the Virginia Department of Highways and Trans-
portation and now supports Alternative Line C with certain minor stipulations
that will be provided to the'Department by the City's Director of Public
Services,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fairfax that
it has officially reconsidered its action of September 1977 and requests of
the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation that Pickett Road be
constructed along Alternative Line C.
