R-78-22 Resolution Regarding WMATA's Proposed Financial Plan for Completion and Operation of the Public Transportation System for the National Capital Area WHEREAS, the State of Virginia on behalf of its political subdivisions entered into a compact in 1969 that provided for the construction of a 98 mile rapid rail transit system to serve the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area known as the Adopted Regional System, and WHEREAS, the Adopted Regional System and the Capital Contributions Agreement of 1970 included rail service to Vienna on the K line, and WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has consistently supported completion of the rapid rail transit system to include the K line as promulgated by the aforementioned Adopted Regional System -- 1968, as amended and financed by the Capital Contributions Agreement of 1970, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Fairfax go on record as continuing its support of the 101 mile rapid rail transit system.
