WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia, on February 25, 1977
was awarded a very favorable legal decision in its suit with re-
spect to the regional rapid rail plan and program; and
WHEREAS, many employees of the City worked over and above
the call of duty; their devotion exemplified by one who reported
to duty on a miserably cold day at 6:00 a.m. to duplicate neces-
sary copies of legal documents and another who sacrificed his
family life for many nights and weekends; and
WHEREAS, the number of employees involved and their variety
of contributions make it impossible to name each and everyone
along with their contributions; and
WHEREAS, their contributions were necessary and vital to the
successful effort;
NOW BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Members of Council,
personally, and on behalf of all citizens, wish to commend and
express appreciation to those of the staff who participated,
and request that the City Manager receive this resolution for
himself and for the staff and that he arrange for individual
staff members who participated to receive copies.
