WHEREAS, it is necessary for a formal Resolution to be made to the
Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation of the Commonwealth of
Virginia by the Council of the City of Fairfax for the project; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted on August 11, 1977 at 7:30 P.M.
in the Council Chambers of the Fairfax City Hall located at 10455 Armstrong
Street in Fairfax, Virginia for the purpose of considering the proposed loca-
tion of Pickett Road and Blake Lane from 0.20 mile west of Route 50 to the
intersection of Route 236, in the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, at its regular meeting on this 6th day of September, 1977, that:
(1) The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation of the Common-
wealth of Virginia be, and is hereby, requested to establish and set up a pro-
posed project for location and design of detail plans for Pickett Road from
Route 50 south to Route 236.
(2) The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation consider the
official position of the City of Fairfax as favoring the Alternate Line 3 as
shown on official maps at said Public Hearing and as given by public testimony
by the Mayor of the City of Fairfax and recorded.
