RESOLUTION TO RESTRUCTURE
THE COMMUNITY BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION
FOR THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, the City's Community Bicentennial Committee
wishes to restrict membership in that body exclusively to
City residents; and
WHEREAS, to insure an adequate number of members on
the committee,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Fairfax, Virginia that the Community Bicentennial
Committee hereinafter be designated the City of Fairfax Bi-
centennial Commission and that membership on the commission be
composed of six members, including a chairman, all of whom
shall be appointed by the City Council.
All appointed shall be citizens and residents of the
City. Two members shall be appointed from nominations sub-
mitted by civic associations and fraternal groups in the City.
One member shall be selected from nominees made by the City of
Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. Three members shall be selected
from among citizens at large.
