19760406 r-76-8RESOLUTION NO. R-76-8
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City Council by resolution dated
September 11, 1973, requested the Virginia Department of
~ighways and Transportation to establish a project to
replace bridges on Route 29, 211 and 50 (Lee Highway) over
Accotink Creek between Draper Drive and Rebel Run and over
the Central Fork of Accotink Creek between Rebel Run and
Stafford Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said Highway Department in cooperation with
the staff of the City of Fairfax has completed plans for
said project designated as State Project 0029-151-102,
PE-101, RW-201, C-501, B-601, B-602; and,
WHEREAS, the Highway Department, after due and proper
notice, appeared at Fairfax City Hall with plans, maps,
and other pertinent data for the purpose of conducting
a public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, only two citizens appeared for said hearing,
each of whom agreed to forego the hearing; and,
WHEREAS, this Council, after due consideration of the
plans and other data prepared for this project is of the
opinion that the location and design for this project are
satisfactory,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of
the City of Fairfax does approve the location and design
for the improvements proposed by the Virginia Department
of Highways and Transportation and designated as Project
0029-151-102, PE-101, RW-201, C-501, B-601, B-602; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager promptly
transmit attested copies of this resolution to the Virginia
Department of Highways and Transportation.
