JOINT RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE FAIRFAX-FALLS CHURCH
COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND MENTAL RETARDATION
SERVICES BOARD
WHEREAS, The Board of Supervisors of the County of Fairfax,
Virginia, and the City Councils of the Cities of Fairfax
and Falls Church, Virginia, have heretofore established
a Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services
Board, pursuant to the provisions of Section 37.1-195
of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County and the City
Councils of the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church now
desire to take certain steps to implement a program of
community mental health and mental retardation services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of Fairfax County, Virginia, and by the City Councils
of the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia;
That the plan and budget for Fiscal Year 1976 for
joint mental health and mental retardation services
is being considered for approval during the normal
City of Fairfax's budgetary process;

That appropriate state officials make every effort
to provide funding levels equal to (including at
least a twelve percent inflationary factor) or
greater than previous years to support the Community
Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services Board;~

That the City Councils of the Cities of Fairfax and
Falls Church, Virginia, hereby authorize the County
of Fairfax to apply to the Virginia Department of
Mental Health and Mental Retardation for assistance
as is provided for by Chapter 10 of Title 37.1, Code
of Virginia 1950 as amended, and authorize the County
Executive, or the Deputy County Executive of Fairfax
County to execute grant applications for assistance
to be administered by the Fairfax-Falls Church Com-
munity Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services
Board;
That they join in approving the appointment by the
Fairfax-Falls Church Community Mental Health and
Mental Retardation Services Board of Warren S.
Hutchison, Director of Finance for Fairfax County,
Virginia, or his successors in office, as fiscal
agent for said Board and for the purpose of receiving
and disbursing funds received from any source by or
in behalf of said Fairfax-Falls Church Community
Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services Board.
