WHEREAS the City of Fairfax Chamber of Commerce is under-
taking a continuing "Shop Fairfax City" educational and promotional
campaign to encourage citizens of the City of Fairfax to purchase
goods and services within the City; and
WHEREAS business transactions taking place within the City
provide a valuable and substantial source of revenues to enable
the City government to provide services utilized and enjoyed by
all citizens; and
WHEREAS it is to the benefit of the City of Fairfax and ~
its citizens that patmonage of the City's substantial and varied
business community be encouraged and increased;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that
1) the Fairfax City Council does hereby wholeheartedly
endorse the "Shop Fairfax City" campaign being conducted by the
City of Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and urges active participation
by all businesses located within the City of Fairfax;
2) further urges all citizens of the City of Fairfax to
"Shop Fairfax City" and become aware of the many advantages thereof;
3) further hereby reaffirms the Fairfax City Council
resolution of July 5, 1972 relating to City purchases from local
businesses.
