Whereas, the City of Fairfax requires a $15.00 water
deposit from all residential customers and a $25.00 water
deposit from all commercial customers, and
Whereas, at the present time deposits are only refunded
at the time the person leaves the City of Fairfax or the
business is closed, whichever the case may be, and
Whereas, it is the general policy of utilities in the
Washington metropolican area, assuming good credit experience,
to refund deposits after one year
Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
that all deposits held by the City for one year or longer are
to be refunded with the following except ons:
1) Any person who has been on the water
cut-off list during the last twelve
months.
2) Any person who, in the last twelve months,
has had his water check returned by the
bank for insufficient funds.
Be It Further Resolved that in the future water deposits
will be reviewed monthly and any depos t held for one year
or longer will be refunded with the above noted exceptions.
